Terrell Owens headed to Cincinnati on Tuesday to see if the Bengals are interested in adding him to their stalled-out passing game.

Receiver Chad Ochocinco has been lobbying for the Bengals to sign Owens since the end of last season, when the Bengals' passing game lacked a deep threat. The newspaper reported that Owens had dinner with the coaching staff Tuesday night and would visit the Bengals offices on Wednesday.

Owens told WKRC-TV in Cincinnati that he would welcome playing with Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer.

The 36-year-old had tweeted earlier in the day that he was on his way to Cincinnati from Los Angeles.

"En route [at] Natti land!!" Owens tweeted. "i'll let u guys know how the mtg went! Cn't go 2 bad considering the pursuit of tht Lombardi shiny thing!!"

Offensive line coach Paul Alexander came off the practice field Thursday choosing not to discuss the status of rookie right tackle Andre Smith but the impact of veteran Scott Kooistra, cut Tuesday to make room for fullback Fui Vakapuna. “Tough. For seven years he played his guts out,” Alexander said. “You lose versatility. He played four spots (both tackles and guards), he’s very reliable and a hard-try guy.”

Alexander wouldn’t rule out Kooistra coming back when the numbers are kinder, but the only time he was active were the two games left guard Nate Livings was hurt. With none of the backups not near Kooistra’s versatility, the club has to think twice before activating Smith.

“We’ve got young guys and a young guy typically learns one spot,” Alexander said. “The only guy who (played more than one) as a rookie was (left tackle Andrew) Whitworth. There’s no solution.”

Bengals Hold Off Ravens, Take Control Of AFC North
Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is talking about the hit that sent his helmet across the field against the Ravens last weekend.
During the Bengals' final drive of the game, Baltimore LB Ray Lewis hit Ochocinco. The impact caused the helmet to fly off the Bengals receiver's head. Lewis was called for a 15-yard penalty which helped the Bengals march down the field for the game-winning touchdown. The 17-14 win propelled the Bengals into first place in the AFC North.

Ochocinco posted a video blog, talking in great detail about the hit. He says, "As I'm coming down, I look out of the corner of my eye and all I see is this machine coming at me. But the machine has a 52 on his chest."

Ochocinco and Lewis are friends off the field. The Bengals wide receiver even sent a message to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell asking the league to not fine Lewis for the hit.
